Sivota (Mourtos)

MourtosOn the east side of Corfu south channel are the uninhabited islet of Sivota and A.Nikolaos. Both are wooded and stand out well against the mainland. The outer islet Sivota is separated from A. Nikolaos by channel affording only 1m depht at its southern end, and A.Nikolaos has a bar with only 2m depht separating it from the mainland.

Syvota (Mourtos)In antiquity, the location was called Sybota  and was the site of the battle of Sybota, under the Turks it was called Mourtos.

Go stern-to the town quay where there are mostly 2 metres depht, shelter is reasonable from moderate NW wind, untenable  from strong W NW winds.
