The main port and capital of the island is a charming village that climbs the mountain , from where you have a beautiful panoramic view on the surrounding coastline.

The name Kalamos means reed in Greek.

 

Go stern or bows-to the mole,sandy bottom ( 2/4 m.depht) ,good holding. Check the mooring especially in the afternoon where the wind, canalized between the two main islands, can cause gusts up to 30kn at times even more! A couple of minimarket, a bakery and restaurants in the immediate vicinity

The road that goes from Kalamos to Episkopi has not had much of an effect on the landscape and is ideal for all those who delight in rambling through a beautiful natural environment.
