In front of Nidry , once left Skorpios we  meet Meganissi , which has a population of about 1000 inhabitants scattered across the three town Spartochori , Vathi , Katomeri .

An island rich in vegetation , crystal clear waters and underground caves , of which the most famous ( SW ) is definitely the cave Papanikoli , which tradition says to have been one of the hideouts of the submarine ” Papanikolis “, hunted by the Germans during the Second world War II.

According to Greek mythology , the island of Meganissi , was inhabited by Tafii the descendants of  Tafio , son of Poseidon , Odysseus from the nearby island of Ithaca gave its ships to  Mente, king of the Tafii population .
