Gaios is the main harbour of Paxos, it is named after a homonymous pupil of Paul the Apostle  who brought Christianity to the island.

The natural port , created by the islet ST. NICOLAS resembles a fjord.

 

Go stern-to or bows-to the tow quay, bottom mud, good holding, shelter all-round. Water and electricity for fee

In the summer the quay is very crowded and crossed anchor are a fact of life.

 

Gaios is an attractive town, with its main square and the streets that surround it,  very popular among Italians who bought many houses.
